The close racing at this Carolina Cup MX Series Warm-Up event at 101 MX would seem to indicate that the series, set to open here three weeks hence, will be one to watch! There were exciting battles in many classes, from the 50cc divisions on up through the big bikes.

The track, one of South Carolina’s newest, first opened in August of last year and has been getting rave reviews from riders.

“[The 1.4-mile course is] a true outdoor motocross track,” said track owner Troy Crisp, “with lots of natural terrain and a few big jumps.”

Power Crunch/BDR Racing/MSR-backed Josh DeBenedetto (70) carved out two convincing wins in the 250cc C/D division, while Josh Post, Jesse Muchirone and C. J. Jennings fought for the runner-up honors. Post (4-2) came out on top in a points tie over Muchirone (3-3). Jennings (2-6) had to settle for fourth overall
