Week 4 Football Rankings

1. Byrnes (3-0) - So far, this impressive nationally-ranked team belongs to QB Chas Dodd. While RB Marcus Lattimore was ranked near the top of every scouting poll, offensive coordinator Bobby Bentley focuses on stepson Dodd to share the ball with as many receivers as possible in what could most closely be associated with a West Coast offense. Despite owning three highly-recruited receivers in Jazz King, Torian Richardson, and Nick Jones, Chas Dodd also spreads the ball to receivers Lee Weick and Tony Hillman. Too make matters more impressive, the Rebels offense scored 4 TDs in their only 5 minutes of possession in the first half against Greer in Week 3. With so much power coming from the offense, it would be a shame not to mention the consistency of a Rebels defense that has only given up 27 points this season.

2. Dorman (3-0) - Charon Peake proved in Week 3 that he could be one of the most dangerous players in the country. Regardless of whether he was lined up as a receiver, tailback, or quarterback, the stout Greenwood defense could do nothing to stop him. The Cavaliers relied on outstanding performances by A.J. Booker and Johnny Foster in their first two games of the season, but Peake took control of the offense in Week 3 with 160 total yards and 2 TDs to lead Dorman past Greenwood. Dorman's defense has yet to record a shutout, but they've held three of the best 4A teams in the state to an average of 12.7 points. Unlike most 4A teams in the state, Dorman's schedule only features teams of the same 4A classification, and if the can stay unbeaten until the Oct. 23rd matchup against Byrnes, the Cavaliers should be in great shape to try for a second straight regular season upset.
 Sky 4: Dorman vs. Greenwood
3. Woodruff (3-0) -Despite the overwhelming win in their opening game at Greer, the Wolverine have since slipped by their previous two opponents by a total of 4 points. The Wolverines have allowed 35 points per game so far, and the defense seems to be the Achilles Heel of this outstanding football team. Abbeville posted 490 rushing yards against Woodruff's defense, and exposed a weakness that the Wolverines made up for with stellar offensive play. QB Jake Lambert has turned in consistently stunning performances so far this season, and in the waning moments of the edge-of-your-seat game against the Panthers, Lambert led the comeback of his career with a scoring drive and two-point conversion with only a minute left on the clock. The star QB threw for 370 yards and only 4 TDs, and he is on pace to easily break not only his own school records, but the state record for TD passes in a season.
4. Daniel (3-0) - For the first time in 15 years, Daniel has back-to-back 3-0 starts, thanks mostly to Deandre Hopkins. Branden Anderson and Colton Korn have also played key roles in the Lions offense. Daniel's defense is nearly as strong as last season, and although their first few opponents are a combined 1-8, this defending region champ is in a position to battle for the top spot once again.
