The Sabres won the state championship in 2005 against Johnsonville, but have lost three straight Upper State bids to Landrum since. Johnsonville has been the runner-up 9 years in a row, but can Southside Christian make it 10?

Daniel lost the state title in 2003, but won in 1999. The Lions didn't have to worry about Pickens either, but now they face 2007 champs Bluffton.
AAAA Championship, 6:30 pm
Dorman 3, Lexington 0
Dorman is the third-winningest volleyball program in the state behind Bishop England and Pickens. The Cavaliers have won 10 championships thanks to Coach Kirkland, who has coached all 10 of those teams.

After three straight Upper State Finals losses to Landrum, Southside Christian finally returns to the state championship after a very close match. The Sabres face Johnsonville, a team appearing in the state title game for the 11th straight season. Johnsonville, however, has lost 9 straight titles.

Chesnee 3, Central 1
Chesnee is the #1 overall seed in the AA Upper State playoffs, and the only area representative in the class. Maybe someone can finally oust Bishop England from the state title.

Chesnee's playoff run came to an end after the Eagles dropped three straight sets after they won the opener.

The Lions return to the state championship for the first time since 2003. They will face Bluffton this Saturday at 4pm.

Dorman 3, Byrnes 2
The Rebels are the defending 4A state champions, and once again Byrnes started out as a low seed in the playoffs and have since dominated in the clutch. Dorman will be the toughest challenge as the Cavaliers won the region and bested Byrnes already this season.
Nation Ford 3, Hillcrest 1
Hillcrest is the #2 seed in the 4A playoffs and faces rising power Nation Ford.

Dorman 3, Nation Ford 0
One of the most successful volleyball programs in the state returns to the championship game after a dominating performance against Nation Ford. The championship game is Saturday at 6:30.
